People considering a trip to Johannesburg might be encouraged to book their flights after the city's executive mayor Amos Masondo and his team invited the world's media for a tour.
Further comments made by the chief executive of the Johannesburg Tourism Company Lindiwe Kwele may assure potential tourists to book a South Africa holiday.
"There's always something to get excited about and celebrate in Joburg," she said, remarking that the itinerary for the public excursion will highlight how the metropolis has changed recently and could offer some "hidden gems along the way."
One of the upcoming attractions Ms Kwele pointed out was this weekend's (May 20th) SA Music Awards, which will be in its 17th year.
For those more interested in sampling the local tastes on their travels, they might be more tempted by The Wine Show, taking place from August 5th – 7th at the Coca Cola Dome.
Opening times vary each day and individual tickets will cost R90 (£8).
