Those on Kenya holidays could head to Maralal

Intrepid travellers heading to Kenya may be tempted to go to Maralal.

The hillside market town has been described as the "gateway to Kenya's wild and arid north" by Magical Kenya and this may interest people on safari holidays.

Although it is seven hours by car from Nairobi, it gives people a chance to take in the breathtaking scenery that the country has to offer.

"The journey takes you through the foothills of the Aberdares, one of Kenya's lush fertile highlands," the body observed.

Thompson's Falls is a landmark that many may choose to check out, as it offers people the chance to have a break before they go into the savannah.

When it is rainy season, tourists can expect to see elephants, giraffe, zebra and gazelle drinking from watering holes.

Hugh Dennis, star of BBC's Mock the Week, recently told the Daily Telegraph that a safari holiday is the best trip he has ever been on.
