Newlyweds may be keen to jet off to the foreign climes of Thailand to celebrate their nuptials.
Research released by AWeddingAbroad.com found six per cent of those surveyed are planning a holiday to Thailand for their honeymoon.
This made it the joint-third most popular destination in the world alongside Italy and St Lucia, with only the US and the Maldives attracting more votes.
Average honeymoon expenditure is expected to be £3,250.
Marketing director Ursula Barzey said: "Based on the current economic climate, we wanted to see if the appetite for going abroad for a wedding or honeymoon was increasing, decreasing or remaining flat."
Some 1,600 brides and grooms – planning to get hitched in the next six to 18 months – were questioned as part of the study.
For those who decide to go to Thailand for their honeymoon, the island of Phuket – which is famous for its sandy white beaches – is one location they may want to visit.
