Tanzania’s Sanctuary Swala introduces walking safari tours

TanzaniaSanctuary Swala located in the Tarangire National Park, has recently introduced walking safari tours, an incredible and unique experience for anyone thinking of experiencing holidays to Tanzania.

The tours enable guests to explore the grassland surrounding the camp in one of the park’s most beautiful and secluded areas. Guests will be accompanied by a professional walking guide as well as an armed ranger to ensure safety.

The qualified guides have a wealth of knowledge regarding the various animals guests are set to encounter. These animals include elephants, ostriches, waterbucks, and zebras, as well as a large variety of birds.

Elephants in particular love to come to the camp and drink at the large waterhole, whilst large cats are often seen amongst the spectacular baobab trees.

Sanctuary Swala is unique in the fact it is one of the only camps within Tanzania’s Northern Park that is able to offer walking safari tours.

The experience is also very reasonably priced, at just $70 per person, whilst a maximum of six people are permitted per walk.

The park is easily accessible, just 115 kilometres from Arusha, with the camp another 67 kilometres into the park.

Scheduled and charter flights are available from Arusha, with it taking under an hour round trip to reach the camp.

Guests can also experience the wonders of safari at night, with Sanctuary Swala offering game drives in the evenings.

This is one of the few places in northern Tanzania that offers such an experience, with guests able to venture into the park at night in the comfort of the sanctuary’s customised safari vehicle to search for rarely seen nocturnal wildlife.
