Cape Town’s Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa has been voted the best in Africa and the Middle East by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine.
The award, one of several to be won by South African resorts in recent years, highlights just how far the country’s spa industry has come over the last decade.
There are now many more dimensions to South Africa holidays than people might typically think – with health and wellbeing being added to a list that includes beaches, adventure activities, wildlife and wine.
Boasting stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa received a massive refurbishment last year and thoroughly deserves its world-class status.
‘It’s a wonderful reward after a major investment,’ commented Horst Frehse, the resort’s general manager, ‘not only in terms of the renovations that now provide excellent surroundings to our guests, but also in terms of selecting and training the therapists that provide professional services that contribute even more to the unique location of the Twelve Apostles.’
Facilities at the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa include luxury gazebos, a Rasul Chamber, Tranquillity Lounge and Vichy Shower.
In addition to claiming top spot on the list of top Hotel Spas the resort also grabbed third on the list of Top City Hotels in Africa and the Middle East, and also featured on the list of Top 100 Hotels in the World.
Cape Town was listed fourth on the Best Cities on the World list.
All the winners will be honoured at a ceremony in New York on 19th July, with the results being published in August’s issue of Travel & Leisure Magazine.
