South Africa could be ideal safari holidays destination
Those thinking of finally booking that once in a lifetime wildlife excursion next year might like to check out South Africa, if one writer's wish list is anything to go by.
In a piece for the Toronto Sun, Robin Robinson has put away his Christmas decorations and has started to choose his ideal destinations for 2011, which include safari holidays in the Rainbow Nation.
He picked out June as the month in which to spend spotting an array of various animals, adding: "I'll head to a place like South Africa's Kruger National Park for a close up encounter with the Big Five – lions, leopards, African elephants, hippos and Cape buffalo."
And Mr Robinson may have been in conference with James Cusick, who wrote a piece for Herald Scotland describing a South African safari in the Kwandwe Game Reserve, pointing out there were an array of animals such as zebras, buffalo and cheetahs.
