Those who are looking to spend a bit of time away this year should go somewhere new.
This is according to advice from Bruce Kirkby, writing for the Globe and Mail, who urged people to conquer a destination on their dream list, rather than revisit an old haunt.
He added: "Learning about a country before arrival will always deepen your appreciation, as will memorising a few words and phrases in the local language."
Safari holidays in Africa may be the ideal vacation for those who are eager to tick off various sites and sounds they want to see in their lifetime – and these may include various animals, such as zebras, lions, tigers and elephants, all in their natural habitats.
What's more, Mr Kirkby advised against planning a trip down to the very last detail and encouraged a bit more exploration, pointing out people should trust in serendipity over efficiency and follow their nose.
