Sporting enthusiasts who want to enjoy their hobbies while away might be keen to head to South Africa this year to experience a number of the country's golf courses, with some of the best featured by a publication.
Those on safari holidays might want to take time out from their animal-spotting schedules to tee off at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City which, according to the African Business Review, was designed by the country's most successful golfer.
"More for the serious golfer, water comes into play for five of the holes," the news source observed, adding that it is home to the "prestigious" Nedbank Golf Challenge.
The course measures 8,000 yards, with the fairways covered in kikuyu grass and a backdrop of the mountains forming part of the Pilanesberg National Park.
However, heading to Mokopane in the Limpopo Province could also prove to be a winner, since this is where the Legend Golf resort is situated, which boasts the world-famous extreme 19th hole, accessible only by helicopter on the Hanglip Mountain.
