New Mauritian hotel unveiled alongside grand opening ceremony
Outrigger are a Hawaiian-based luxury hotel brand, boasting high-end resorts in eight island destinations around the globe, of which the recent opening in Mauritius marked the 46th complex in the company’s overall portfolio.
The company’s persona of luxury and excellence was mirrored within the Outrigger Mauritius Resort & Spa’s opening ceremony on April 16th.
Approximately three hundred VIP guests attended the event, distinguished by fireworks and the symbolic handover of a hand-made koa wood paddle, representing Outrigger’s belief in unity, strength and acknowledgement between fellow island nations around the globe.
The handover to the new resort’s General Manager Frederic Chretien was completed by Kaipo Ho – cultural ambassador of Outrigger.
He was adorned in native Hawaiian clothing while emblematically passing on themes of gratitude and appreciation for the people of Mauritius for carrying on the company’s legacy overseas.
The grand opening of the Outrigger Mauritius Hotel & Spa has been a long time coming with the stellar renovation of the complex taking a total of nine months to complete.
For travellers mulling over personalised holidays to Mauritius, the new resort is located right along the island’s southwest coast, offering optimum sunrise and sunset views while facing the placid turquoise waters for an incredibly pleasurable experience.
With the island’s revered Heritage Golf Club located a mere five minutes along the B9 road and the island’s Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport just a three quarters of an hour drive away, the complex is ideal for those craving an accessible, yet luxurious overseas break.
