There should be a 20 per cent increase in the number of people who go to Kenya in 2011.
This is according to tourism minister Najib Balala, who wants to attract people on Kenya holidays and he was speaking after the Lake Elementaita Serena Camp was opened.
One of the reasons individuals may travel to the destination could be the new resort, which is located 30 km from Lake Nakuru National Park.
As well as this, the country's capital is 120 km away, while Lake Elementaita has recently been added to the Unesco World Heritage List.
Mr Balala – who attended the University of Toronto and the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard – noted the nation has some of the "most highly-demanded touristic products" and it needs to adapt to the changes in the worldwide market.
He continued by saying Kenya should be looking to build local brands to take advantage of the attractiveness of the locations it has to offer.
