People who are keen on a wildlife excursion with a difference may like take in the experience onboard an elephant in South Africa.
Lisa Roland, writing for the Manchester Evening News, described seeing a number of animals while on the beast including zebras, antelope and a family of warthogs.
She recalled a feeling of "tranquillity" as the "magnificent" elephants walked along, adding the "early morning jaunt was the highlight of an amazing African adventure".
Later on her safari holidays in the Rainbow Nation, Ms Roland visited the Pilanesberg National Park and noted there was an "astonishing array of wild animals".
These included hippos, baboons, impalas and even a giant tortoise that was asleep in the middle of a pathway.
And the country has also been recommended as a potential safari destination by Maryanne Njeri, writing for the East African, who stated people have a good chance of seeing the so-called Big Five animals in the Madikwe Game Reserve.
