Hungry travellers with a particular taste for dairy products might find an upcoming event the perfect way to indulge their appetites and experience a day out at the same time.
Those currently enjoying their South Africa holidays might like to try the Cheese Festival being held at Sandringham Farm from April 29th until May 2nd. This year will mark the event's tenth anniversary.
Agri-Expo will be in charge of it and the organisation's chief executive officer Johan Ehlers explained that visitors will be able to see how the delicacies are made, "from the udder to the table".
Since its inauguration in 2002, attendance has more than doubled, as the number of entrants for the first event was 14,000 and totalled 31,663 in 2010. "It is encouraging that thousands of consumers have strengthened their bond with cheese," Mr Ehlers observed.
Sandringham Farm can be accessed by Exit 39 of the N1 from Cape Town and the event is open from 10:00 to 18:00 local time between Friday and Sunday, while Monday's festivities close an hour earlier.
