Arts Alive festival could intrigue South Africa holidaymakers
There will be plenty to see and do at Arts Alive 2011.
The event – which is a month-long celebration of dance and music – may appeal to people going on South Africa holidays.
As well as this, poetry, comedy and visual arts will be displayed as Johannesburg's most talented take to various locations.
Some 160 free shows have been laid on as part of the celebration – which has been going since 1993 – while a specialist jazz weekend will also be held.
"The city's growth and development strategy engagements are underpinned by various themes, including the creation of smart, liveable and environmentally-friendly city. Arts Alive falls perfectly under the theme of liveable cities," said Chris Vondo, the portfolio head of community development.
Events are set to take place in all seven regions of Johannesburg and Mr Vondo has encouraged individuals to show their support for the festival by attending.
